Center for Genomic Medicine, Rigshospitalet

The Center for Genomic Medicine (GM) was established in 2011 to ensure that the clinical departments in the Capital region (Region Hovedstaden) have immediate access to high throughput technologies such as microarray platforms and next generation sequencing. These technologies are crucial elements in the personalized medicine as e.g. in the investigation of causes of rare diseases, determination of germ-line variants predisposing for cancer or for specification of treatment for cancer patients.

As the part of Copenhagen University, GM also strives to promote education of the medical personal in the field of genomic medicine and continuously improve diagnostics through national and international research collaborations.

The Center for Genomic Medicine is DANAK certified and affiliated with the University of Copenhagen.

Center for Genomic Medicine consists of four branches:

The Center also provides bioinformatical support for the users of the service facilities.
